Understanding your aptitudes, skills and career preferences is essential to effectively plan your career development and discover your potential.
Vocational aptitude tests, combined with a meeting with a career counselor, can help you find answers to the question of how you fit into today’s labor market and active social life.
The result of such a test helps to identify areas in which we have natural inclinations and abilities, as well as those in which we may need to work a little harder. Based on the results of the tests, we can determine
- What skills and competencies are worth developing to further our career goals,
- what type of work, working style or professional environment suits us better, e.g. whether we are more comfortable working in a team or individually, whether we are more of a leadership type or more of a ‘conventional type’ focused on following orders, or whether we prefer to work in large corporations or in small companies.
Preference tests, personality tests and aptitude tests are effective ways of finding out which jobs or fields of work suit our individual characteristics and predispositions, making it much easier to make the right decisions in terms of personal and professional development.
Setting individual goals is the first step in creating Silver’s development plan. It helps to determine the direction in which a Silver wants to develop and what he wants to achieve. Development goals can be divided into three main categories: professional goals, personal goals and social goals.
Professional goals focus on growth and achievement in the professional sphere, such as advancement or acquiring new skills in one’s field. Personal goals focus on personal life and interpersonal relationships. They may include developing passions, improving health or work-life balance. Social goals, such as social communication, time management and teamwork, are important in every aspect of our professional, personal and social lives.
To learn about the tools (methods and techniques) to recruit and select Silvers for a suitable job, to help develop application documents and prepare for an interview. Identify websites/portals, job databases, social media to assist in finding employment and participating in social activities or considering entrepreneurship.
